Homeware design and development, from first sketch to production. Ceramic, glass and brass.
What I design
I am Gaurav Singhal, a homeware designer. I design the small things a home is touched by every day: cabinet knobs and drawer pulls, door knobs and door knockers, wall hooks and decorative objects. I work in solid brass, glazed ceramic and glass, and I develop every piece directly with the factory, from first sketch and sample to costing, production and quality.

A smooth oval knob and a long rounded bar handle, made as a pair.

Solid brass, polished and lacquered
A small system rather than a single product: four knobs and eleven backplates, all in solid brass.

Glass on an antique brass finish base
A rosebud in glass, with one smooth swirl curling into the centre.
See the pieceI design each piece myself, starting from the material: ceramic, glass or brass.
Samples are developed directly with the factory.
Because I have made product as well as bought it, I design knowing what things cost to make.
Production runs with partner factories in India, China and Europe.
Quality is part of the job, from first sample to finished piece.
About
I learned product in a brass workshop, long before I drew my first design.
I started out making brass hardware for export, then imported hardware into the UK, then built my own homeware brand, G Decor. Today I design in ceramic, glass and brass, and develop every piece directly with the makers.
